I wait
patiently
a bullfrog
submerged
in pond muck
clear golden eyes
unblinking
I know
he's the fly
drawn to death's
silence
to prove life
he buzzes close
loudly
tempting fates
air currents
alert the prosecuter
the defendant
is guilty
The stillness
of stagnant waters
breaks
bubble gum pink
lashes out
lightening quick
delivers the sentence
effectively
timely
life for a life
and no
corruption
of evidence
You're morbid as of late. :P

I liked this reference to the frog.
Morbid, really? It light compared to usual! LOL!
ReplyDeletethe circle of life is a crime of epic scale
ReplyDelete@Tom at least the evidence is cut and dry with the cycle of life - well in the animal kingdom anyway.
ReplyDeleteflies leave a nasty after taste though...nice imagery, i can see the sticky tongued death
ReplyDeleteNormally, the cycle of life in the animal kingdom distresses me. I tend to empathize with the eaten. But with flies, not so much. I'm cheering the frog on.
ReplyDeleteOooohhh! I could almost see the flick of that lightning-quick tongue. Supremely well done!
